But I highly recommend Albion's Seed as an entertaining and enlightening work of historical scholarship which will be absolutely delightful if you don't fret too much over all of the existential questions it raises.

from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it
drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about
6 years.
