The Gilbert book is just so much fun to read. He's one of the funniest people, certainly in psychology – he's just endlessly witty, and reading it is like strapping yourself into a roller coaster.
Not at all new-agey, as the title might suggest. Harvard professor of psychology has studied happiness for years, and shares factual findings that will change the way you look at the world.
It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month
from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it
drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about
6 years.
