The Founder's Dilemmas

Noam Wasserman

Recommended by 2 people on the record.

The bar next to each date shows how long ago it was said: 6d is days, 4yr is years.

Jason Evanish recommends it affiliate
Starting a company requires you to make tons of important decisions that deeply impact the kind of success and failure you experience. Professor Wasserman of Harvard uses data, research, and anecdotes to paint a clear picture of the absolutely critical decisions you must make in your startup around cofounders, investors, and whether you're building for control or wealth.

Joel Spolsky recommends it
Wasserman has finally put it all together in a great book called The Founder's Dilemmas, which I highly recommend if you're starting a company.

That little bar

It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about 6 years.

A striped bar means the date itself is an estimate — the source did not carry an exact one. An entry with no date at all gets no bar.
