The High Growth Handbook

Elad Gil

The bar next to each date shows how long ago it was said: 6d is days, 4yr is years.

Jason Evanish recommends it affiliate
If you plan to scale a company past about 20 employees, this book is an incredible guide to some of the toughest challenges you'll face. Every chapter covers a different department or aspect (like managing boards, marketing, product, and sales) and includes super actionable advice and an interview with an expert from a multi-billion dollar company. The only thing preventing a 10/10 was that the PR section was fluff; if I had a dollar for every time a friend's startup wasted $5,000-$10,000 a month on worthless PR firms, I'd be rich.

That little bar

It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about 6 years.

A striped bar means the date itself is an estimate — the source did not carry an exact one. An entry with no date at all gets no bar.
