Neuroscience For Dummies by Frank Amthor

This book has been very valuable in my studies to quickly double-check on concepts. I'm not a huge fan of the tone and things are not always written "for dummies" like you'd want it to, but it's a great reference book

The Brain: The Story of You by David Eagleman

It's very easy to read, and is a good introduction that will pique your curiosity and make you want to learn more. A great option if you're not a big reader.

A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson

Reading about all the scientific discoveries, the way humans went about inventing new concepts and solutions, and how clueless we can sometimes be is incredibly inspiring.

Originals by Adam Grant – I read this book when I had just left Google, while climbing Kilimanjaro. Sitting inside my tent, I could not stop taking notes.

This is a very fun read, and will certainly give you a few ideas by changing your understanding of human behaviour.

Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman

It may not seem like much when put like this, but the book does an amazing job at explaining how we can be wrong even when we think we are being logical.

That little bar

It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about 6 years.

A striped bar means the date itself is an estimate — the source did not carry an exact one. An entry with no date at all gets no bar.
