If you want to get deeper, like for example more into the Warren Buffet side of things where you’re an active investor, one really interesting book that I read a few years ago is called The Little Book that Beats the Market.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

And finally, a really, really old fashioned book if someone just wants to wake themselves up and start turning into more of a positive, less depressed person is this 1950s classic called The Magic of Thinking Big. I’ve recommended that to so many friends, because I stumbled across it when I was like 15 years old, and it was really, really old even then.

The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins

A friend of mine who is a blogger named Jim Collins wrote this book called The Simple Path to Wealth, which is just sort of like an even simpler, more story-based, enjoyable, old man’s tales explanation of why you should invest in index funds.

Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin

there’s a really great one called Your Money or Your Life, that everybody’s heard of. If you just get whatever the latest edition of that book is, it really teaches you a philosophy that’s pretty similar to mine, which is that consumption is not really what’s making you happy; buying yourself treats.

That little bar

It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about 6 years.

A striped bar means the date itself is an estimate — the source did not carry an exact one. An entry with no date at all gets no bar.
