The bar next to each date shows how long ago it was said: 7d is days, 4yr is years.

loved it

Influence by Robert Cialdini

I loved how he even managed to apply his principles to the Watergate scandal.

Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink

This is one of my favourite books. He takes many of these findings about decision-making and shows how they work in the domain of food.

Nudge by Cass Sunstein & Richard Thaler

Nudge is also a very important book. One of the reasons Nudge is so important is because it's taking these ideas and applying them to the policy domain.

The Invisible Gorilla by Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons

These are the guys who did one of the most important pieces of research in social science, which is to show how little we actually see in the world around us.

That little bar

It says how long ago something was said, so you can tell last month from 2014 without doing the arithmetic. Full and green is recent; it drains and cools as the date gets older, and empties completely at about 6 years.

A striped bar means the date itself is an estimate — the source did not carry an exact one. An entry with no date at all gets no bar.
